At what age can I start Driver Education?
Kern Driving & Traffic School recommends that you take Driver Education one (1) month before your 151/2 birthday, but you can start anytime after your 15th birthday.
Can I complete Driver Ed. in the Classroom?
Yes. The classes run four (4) Saturdays for 8:30am to 3:30pm. You have to go four (4) consecutive Saturdays. If you need to miss a class, you can make it up the next time those lessons are being taught.
Can I complete Driver Ed. on-line?
Yes. You can register through this website, or you can register in our office at 2418 F Street. If you register through this website, you have to pay the total amount on-line, but if you register in our office you can split the payment in to two $135.00 down and $134.00 before you schedule your second Driver Training appointment.
When will I receive my DMV Certificate of completion from On-line or Classroom D.E.
On the last Saturday of Classroom Driver Ed. you will receive your
DMV Classroom Certificate.
When you finish On-line Driver Ed. we will mail you your
DMV On-line Certificate the next day in most cases.
If you want, you can pick it up at our office at 2418 F Street.
Just call so we will have it ready for you.

*Pay a nonrefundable application fee ($33.00)
How long are the Behind-the-Wheel lessons?
Each lesson is two (2) hours long
I misplaced my Eye Glasses. Do I need them for my Driving Lesson?
Yes. If your Permit reads, Corrective Lenses in the Restriction Box of your Permit.
I have misplaced my Permit. Do I need it for my Driving Lesson?
Absolutely. We cannot take you on the road without a valid Instructional Permit. Our Instructors will ask to see your Permit every time you drive.
